ST. PAUL, MN - Pentair (NYSE: PNR) today announced that its Pentair Electronic
Packaging unit received a $12 million order from the Motorola Communications Enterprise
group for the supply of telecommunications cabinets. The cabinets will house and protect
electronic equipment used in the Nextel cellular telephone system. Motorola supplies
cellular equipment for the Nextel system.

Electronic Packaging. "Pentair Electronic Packaging's new facility in the Chicago
area will play a key role in serving the needs of Motorola and other national and
international customers. We will be providing deliveries from this operation in direct
support of Motorola's daily production requirements."
The cabinet order represents an acceleration of the Nextel program. Pentair Electronic
Packaging anticipates completing the order over the next 18 months, with the program
continuing beyond this time frame. Pentair is providing a wide variety of enclosure
products to Motorola for other technology-related projects; the company is one of
Pentair's top ten enclosure and electronic integration customers worldwide.
