(NYSE: PNR) today announced that its DeVilbiss Air Power Company unit produced
its 10- millionth air compressor at its Jackson, Tennessee facility on February
13, 2003. Part of Pentair's Tool Group, DeVilbiss Air Power Company is a leading
manufacturer of air compressors, pressure washers, and generators. The company
has the ability to manufacture an air compressor every six seconds.

achievement wouldn't have been possible," said H. Eugene Swacker, interim
president of the Pentair Tools Group. "This milestone is also a testament to the
ever-improving efficiency of our operations and our supply chain."
DeVilbiss Air Power Company began manufacturing portable compressors at its
Toledo, Ohio facility in 1978. From 1978 until August of 1989, the company
produced 1.5 million compressors. DeVilbiss Air Power Company then relocated to
Jackson in 1989 and, by 1992, had produced its first million compressors. Over
the subsequent 10 years, the company added nine million more units to achieve
the 10 million unit milestone.
The Pentair Tools Group, which employs approximately 2000 people, includes
Jackson-based Delta International woodworking machinery and Porter-Cable power
tools.
