ST. PAUL, Minn., Mar 10, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Pentair
(NYSE: PNR) announced today that Scott R. Levin, 50, has been named president of
the Pentair Pump Group, which includes the F.E. Myers and Hydromatic pump
businesses in Ashland, Ohio; Aurora Pump in North Aurora, Illinois; and
Fairbanks Morse Pump Company in Kansas City, Kansas. Levin succeeds Michael V.
Schrock, who was promoted to president and chief operating officer of Pentair's
Enclosures Group in late 2001.
"Scott brings a broad-based background to the Pump Group," said Richard
Cathcart, president and chief operating officer of Pentair's Water Technologies
Group. "During his 21-year career, he has gained valuable experience in business
development, lean manufacturing, supply chain management, as well as financial
planning and turnaround activities. Scott's business assignments have taken him
to the Far East, Latin America, and Europe, in addition to North America, where
he has worked with diverse customers ranging from military and government
agencies to local entrepreneurs. The breadth and scope of Scott's experience
makes him an ideal choice to lead our diverse pumps business."
Levin most recently served a year as Senior Associate with Alixpartners, LLC, a
consulting firm specializing in performance improvement of finance, operations
and systems for a wide range of industries. Between 1998 and 2002, Levin was
employed by Imperial Home Decor Group, Inc., Cleveland, Ohio, where he held the
positions of executive vice president, chief financial officer, and chief
executive officer. Previous experience includes 14 years with United
Technologies, where Levin advanced through a series of progressively responsible
finance positions. Prior to joining United Technologies, Levin held corporate
treasury positions with Exxon Corporation.
Levin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University
of Cincinnati, a Doctorate degree in Comparative Literature from Indiana
University, and a Masters in Business Administration - Finance from Indiana
University.
