Global Company is Recognized for its Continued Philanthropic Efforts by Minnesota Keystone Program
SCHAFFHAUSEN, Switzerland - December 23, 2013 - Pentair Ltd., a global water, fluid, thermal management and equipment protection company, was recently recognized for its fifteenth consecutive year of giving at least two percent of pre-tax earnings to the community by the Minnesota Keystone Program. Since its inception in 1998, The Pentair Foundation has donated $50 million to charitable causes focused on providing safe water to those in need, driving engineering innovation and talent development, and supporting the communities where its employees live and work.
"Being a good corporate citizen is a strong part of the Pentair culture," said Randall J. Hogan, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "At the core of Pentair's values is a commitment to 'Win Right,' which means not only conducting business with the highest ethical standards, but also utilizing our resources, technology and talent to make a positive impact in the world."
Pentair has focused its philanthropic efforts to help solve some of the world's biggest challenges around water, food, and energy, while also giving back to the greater global community. Key focus areas include:
Safe Water Initiatives: From Honduras and India to Indonesia and Africa, Pentair has dedicated nearly $10 million to water-related programs through a variety of partners, reaching well over 500,000 people with sustainable, clean water services.
Community Involvement: Working to improve its communities, Pentair employees join together and collaborate with cross-sector partners to identify needs and create solutions to address sustainability issues related to water, and education (specifically science, technology, engineering and math) programs.
Sustainable Solutions: Pentair is continually investing resources for research and innovation in water and energy conservation technologies. One such example is the organization's partnership with the major league Minnesota Twins baseball team in 2010 to develop their ballpark's innovative rain water recycle system- one of the highest-profile sustainable water solutions in sports. The system captures, conserves and reuses rain water for washing down stadium seats or irrigating the playing field, thereby reducing the ballpark's need for municipal water by two million gallons per year.
